Step by step
- Close a door between the cats and the area you are going to sweep.
- Check that no alternative routes are blocked.
- Sweep the threshold dry with short, controlled passes.
- Collect all the dust with the dustpan.
- Put the broom and dustpan in their usual place.
- Open the door and restore all normal routes.
The meaning of practice
The threshold functions as an attention signal between one moment and the next; sweeping does not remove energy or offer protection.
