The Hierophant represents the knowledge that passes from one person to another through symbols, practice and community. It does not force us to accept every tradition without examination; it invites us to recognize where a teaching comes from, what function it fulfilled and who could access it. Approaching it with respect involves listening before adapting, citing sources and distinguishing heritage from personal interpretation. Then you can decide which principle retains meaning in your present life.
